Each year, we conduct a national search for the best artists in the nation to perform at the Block Party day of The Weekender Festival. Weekender Festival Alumni have also appeared on The Grammy Awards, Coachella, Rolling Loud, BET Awards, Saturday Night Live, The Voice, American Idol, The Four, Commercials (Amazon, TurboTax, Powerade, JBL, PUMA, Super Bowl, etc. ), TV & Film (Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Mo, Rap Sh!t, etc.) Radio Shows/Podcasts (The Breakfast Club, Sway In The Morning, The Pivot, etc.)

What kind of artists do we book?

We book artists whose purpose is to impact lives through their performances. Artists who perform at the Weekender Festival contribute to building the lives of low-income residents in public housing. We are really heavy on the impact. This impact includes financial literacy, back-to-school supplies, medical support, affordable housing, small business support, and more. Festival performers are the key focal point of festival attendees and help us attract more investment to touch more lives.

Their conviction, passion, and talent shine through their performances. Performers that we select vary in many ways, but all have the following in common:

1. Superior Talent: Artists stand out from the crowd because they are unique, distinct, compelling, and passionate.

2. Professional: Selected artists have been around the block and know how to communicate effectively. They respond timely to requests from Weekender Staff.

3. Family Friendly:  The Block Party at The Weekender Festival is an all-ages show that prohibits music that promotes drug use, violence, obscenity, and offensive material.

4. Crowd Fit: The Weekender Festival is a production of the Harrisburg Housing Authority, which serves residents of all ages. Our community is primarily African American and Hispanic/Latinx.

Our Talent Show Showcase on April 12, 2024 was a complete success. The auditions were filled with incredible musical talent, lively performances, and unforgettable moments. Our esteemed judges had the tough task of selecting standout performers who will grace the stage at the 2024 Weekender Festival.
